Honey-Lime Chicken Wings – a recipe from Amanda’s kitchen. After trying this tasty dish out earlier this week, they quickly decided it should be shared with you!
3 pounds chicken wings
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup honey
3 Tablespoons lime juice
1 Tablespoon lime zest
2 garlic cloves, minced (1 teaspoon)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease a rimmed cookie sheet or 13×9″ baking dish. Put flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt into a zip-top plastic bag.* Pat wings dry, add to bag, and shake to coat. Lay wings out in a single layer on oiled cookie sheet or baking dish. Bake for 40-45 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.
2. Meanwhile, mix honey, lime juice, lime zest, garlic, pepper, and remaining salt together with a whisk or fork.
3. When chicken is cooked, remove from oven, and increase temperature to 450 degrees. Drizzle or brush the honey glaze over the wings, or place them in a large, heat-proof bowl and toss to coat well. Return to oven and bake for a few more minutes, until glaze is beginning to caramelize.
*Note: The wings could be fried if desired. Or the flour-coating could be skipped entirely, and the wings baked alone. The glaze just may not stick as well. |
